I received a review copy of this book from author, Sarah Anderson, and publisher, Bolide Publishing. The thoughts and opinions in this post are entirely my own.

There’s nothing like being unstuck from space and time to make you seriously rethink your life plans.

Sally just wanted a nice Florida vacation, but between literal jump-scares, internet scammers, and the not-FBI hot on their tail, just can’t seem to find the time to relax. Will she and Zander ever have that candlelight dinner?

When a mystery lands on their doorstep in the middle of the night, it seems like the answer to all their problems. From Florida malls to the dark side of the moon, the trio needs to stall their nervous breakdowns in order to save the planet from an extra-terrestrial murderer – and, apparently, themselves.

EarthstuckThis series just gets better and better; this time rather than whisking the reader off to some exciting new planet, Sally, Zander, and Blayde take us on an adventure around our home (well – as long as you’re not an alien): Earth. This time the trio start off in a very unknown place; Blayde seems to have lost all sense of purpose, and Sally coming to terms with her new “state”. But the plan is to go to visit Sally’s parents in Florida, spend a few days relaxing at the beach, and give Sally the chance to catch up with her family. But of course, what would the Starstruck series be without a simple trip turning their lives upside down? They’re soon drawn into solving the murders of young women in the area, but it looks to be more of a question of “ What is killing these young women?”.

Earthstuck does not disappoint; it continues with the action, adventure, pace, and humour from its prequels, despite being (mostly) contained within our own world. Sarcastic humour is done amazingly well in this series – it’s one of the things I adore about the books (and characters) – and this time we have the added bonus of Blayde discovering the internet (yes it’s as hilarious as you think it will be). The reader is taken on an exciting and nail-biting adventure, along the way meeting the most intriguing of characters.

The dynamic between the main trio is perfect throughout the story; I love the way their relationships have developed, and how spending so much time on earth is impacting Blayde and Zander, and even better was the contrast of their relationship with Sally – who is just used to their sword fighting in the early hours of the morning now, vs Sally’s parents who really don’t know what to make of the two of them. It takes me back to book #1 where it was Sally trying to come to terms with this strange pair, and I just loved to see how far Sally had come; just taking all these aliens and murder mysteries in her stride… you go girl!

If you haven’t started this series yet and love sci-fi books with sarcastic characters and lots of fast-paced action then I highly recommend you do. And if this isn’t enough to tempt you, Starstruck (Starstruck #1) is FREE on kindle this week!

Thank you so much to Sarah and Bolide Publishing for sending me this exciting instalment to the Starstruck saga, and all the little goodies!

Earthstuck is out on the 18th August 2020!
